Description
This project sets out to develop a training package for safety engineers in SMEs. This will be developed in collaboration with employers and unions and with the two most recognised occupational safety and health (OSH) institutions. It will cover the basics of occupational health and safety (OSH) and focus on six topics, which will be developed by six different working groups:
-
OSH in the workplace: risks, principles and methods of prevention, national and EU legislation and the concept of minimum standards;
-
written risk assessments: the legal commitment and practical guidance;
-
minimum standards for workplaces;
-
workplace conditions: ventilation, temperature, lighting, noise, ergonomic modifications;
-
risks from technical equipment and electricity;
-
dangerous substances: dust, exhalations, fumes, gasses, liquids and steam, metals, prevention measures, threshold limit values and individual protective equipment;
-
any additional topics that arise during the project.
All this will be put on CD and will form the basis for training by the Institute’s vocational training centre and those of its partners in the project.
