Report - Promoting health and safety in European Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are widely acknowledged as the backbone of the European economy, employing nearly two thirds of the EU’s private-sector workforce and creating one in every two new jobs. Sadly, their occupational safety record does not compare well with larger enterprises. The fatal accident rate in .rms with fewer than 50 workers is around double that of larger companies.
