Balancing over the waves by Jose Luis Morales Martin (commended)

The photo “Balancing over the waves” was taken in Madrid, Spain during the construction works of an electric power company that my company, an architect’s studio, is managing. Our design of the roof is a concrete sine wave, 10 centimetres in thickness. It was early in the morning during my weekly visit to the site and one of the skilled workers was carrying the bars to reinforce this concrete sine wave. He looked like a surfer balancing over a wave marked with reinforced bars. I ordered him to put on his gloves for carrying the bars and to make use of his safety harness and then captured this shot.
