Italian Focal Point of the European gency for Safety and Health at Work
In Italy, the institutional system of safety and health at work comes under the Ministry of Labour and Health, in conjunction with the Regional Coordination Committees and the social partners. Their responsibilities include delivering advice for legislative developments, supervision, promoting health and assisting businesses.
The National Information System for Prevention at the Workplace (SINP) (comprising the Ministry of Labour and Health, the Ministry of the Interior, the Regions, the Italian Workers' Compensation Authority (INAIL) and the Social Welfare Institution in the maritime sector (IPSEMA) is charged with guiding, planning and evaluating the effictiveness of prevention against accidents and occupational diseases and with steering supervisory activity by expanding specific archives and the creation of unified databases.
The Italian Focal Point is represented byInail, which coordinates the national network of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.
