FR-ANSES expertise on workers' exposures in covered parking lots 16.08.2010
Risk assessment for activities carried out in covered parking lots
The research was a follow-up tp previous assessments carried out on demand of the minitries in charge.
Risk assessment was performed in cooperation with ANACT for five activities typically carried out, including maintenance, reception, cleaning, checking ventilation and other equipment, vehicle maintence and cleaning.
Following the assessment, recommendations were given for the saftey of workers as well as chemical exposures, for example to reassess permissible limit values and limit exposure of workers to exhaust fumes such as carbon monoxyde and nitrogen dioxide, as well as some carcinogenic fuel constituents, such as benzene. It was also recommended to limit some activities in insufficiently ventilated areas to the strictly necessary.
The report and recommendation are available on the ANSES Website.
ANSES was created on 1st July 2010 as a national agency responsible for food, environmental and occupational health safety combining the French Food Safety Agency (Afssa) and the French Agency for Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (Afsset), establishing a new health safety body.
