Web seminar on nanotechnology Health and Safety
ACGIH® is organising a web-based seminar on 'Nanotechnology Health and Safety: Case Studies in the Occupational Setting' on 4 December 2007 at 2PM (US Eastern Time) during 2 and half hour.
The seminar addresses to industrial hygiene, safety, manufacturing operations, research, and other health/medical professionals that have some knowledge of the basic principles of engineered nanoparticles and are looking to further their knowledge of how to safely use engineered nanoparticles in the occupational setting.
This webinar will focus on several points such as:
- Known health effects data and their implications for risk characterization and risk management
- Hazard identification and exposure assessment
- Evaluating and characterizing risk
- Procedural approaches for completing an evaluation
- Conducting a real-time assessment: qualitative and quantitative tools
- Types of controls, PPE, and how to verify effectiveness
- Employee communication
- Communicating information to management
U.S. and Canadian attendees can connect to the audio portion of the webinar via the toll-free audio telephone link or listen to the audio portion through an audio stream directly to their computer. Other international participants can listen via the audio stream without incurring additional telephone charges.
