Focus on risk prevention! EU-OSHA announces winners of 2011 photo competition
The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) has announced the winners of its pan-European photo competition on safety and health in the workplace. Krzysztof Maksymowicz of Poland was awarded the first prize for his photograph ‘dress maker’ at the Healthy Workplaces Summit in Bilbao.

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) is bringing its two-year campaign to a close through its Healthy Workplaces Summit on Safe Maintenance. The two-day summit in Bilbao brings together leading European experts and decision makers including the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, Lászlo Andor, the new Director of EU-OSHA, Dr Christa Sedlatschek and representatives of governments and social partners.

In the second year of EU-OSHA’s Healthy Workplaces Campaign on safe maintenance, the number of official campaign partners has now risen to 52 as seven more pan-European organisations and multinational companies from a range of public and private sectors have joined: AEIP, CPME, Dupont, ECTA, EORNA, Golder Associates and UEPG

To mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on 28 April, the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) has launched its new Healthy Workplaces Campaign for 2010/11, promoting safe maintenance across Europe. In some European countries as much as 20% of all workplace accidents are connected with maintenance and in a number of sectors over half of all accidents are maintenance-related.
