September 2009, date tbc: A section of the Global HSE Workship will be dedicated to describing the work of EU OSHA, publicising the EU OSHA campaign, and leveraging learning/best practices regarding the application of risk assessment within Lilly.
May 2009, date tbc: A section of the European HSE Leaders Meeting will be dedicated to describing the work of EU OSHA, publicising the EU OSHA campaign, and leveraging learning/best practices regarding the application of risk assessment within Lilly.
During 2009: HSE staff based at our European sites will raise awareness about the EU OSHA campaign with our Lilly supervised / in-house contracted companies.
20th to 24th October 2008: A number of our European sites participated in the European Week for Safety and Health. For example, at our site in Kinsale, Ireland a steering committee made up of a number of employees across all departments organised a variety of activities including:
- Giant poster boards and plasma screen presentations were posted across the site promoting the week’s campaign.
- Health and Safety Promotion Stand with awareness-raising posters, leaflets and freebies.
- Visit by local school by two Lilly H&S staff to give an interactive presentation on Fire Safety Prevention and hazard spotting in the home
- Daily safety conundrums were run throughout the week in the cafeteria, with spot prizes presented each day.
- Presentation by Alpha Radon on radon awareness in the home, with the opportunity for employees to purchase radon testing kits for their homes.
- Various areas across the site running their own events and activities (safety crosswords, area audits, safety stands etc.)
- Site Safety Oscar Award – this goes to person(s) that have demonstrated significant commitment to safety during the year and who continue to be very active and enthusiastic safety advocates for their areas and across the site.
- Best Site Safety Committee – this goes to the site safety committee recognised as achieving the best efforts
- These efforts were communicated throughout Lilly via an article in the Global HSE Newsletter.
- Risk assessment at one of Lilly's sites in Alcobendas, Spain
- Dedicated campaign webpage
- Campaign banner on Eli Lilly Corporate HSE website and intranet
- Dissemination of campaign material and news through our networks (e.g. European HSE and IH Pharmaceutical Networks, and UK OH Pharmaceutical Forum)
- Awareness raising sessions will be carried out via the Global HSE Conference, European Leaders Meeting, UK SHE Committee Meeting and H&S/IH Specialist Group Meetings
- Campaign banner on Eli Lilly Corporate HSE website and intranet
