During 2009:
The EBC-led twinning project “Under Construction II – Improving Health and Safety in SMEs of the construction sector” (running from December 08 until December 09) focuses heavily on cooperation with national focal points (for the 8 national seminars) as well as with EU-OSHA (for the two international conferences). Throughout the project, campaign material will be disseminated to the partners, taking advantage, in particular, of the fact that such material is translated in many languages. Dissemination will target three different groups: Project partners (13 associations from 11 countries), EBC member network (16 associations with around 600,000 affiliated construction companies and 2.5 million workers) and finally dissemination through our Newsletter and website reaching a much wider audience.

20 March 2009, Rome: 1st twinning seminar (group 1: Italy, Romania)
April 2009, Vilnius: 2nd twinning seminar (group 2: Lithuania, Latvia, Belgium)
28 April 2009, Prague: 3rd twinning seminar (group 3: France, Czech Republic, Hungary)
May 2009, Ankara: 4th twinning seminar (group 4: UK, Malta, Turkey)
June, Florence: EBC Annual Congress, attended by delegations from the national members including a majority of construction entrepreneurs. The event will help publicise the project and the European Campaign. A press Conference is planned during the event.
European week 19-23 October, London: Closing Conference UC II project. Two-day event with 1 day conference and 1 day best practice site or training facility visit.
23 until 25 November 2009, Brussels: “XXIXth International Symposium of the Construction Section of the International Social Security Association” (ISSA-C).

- Video The UCII project includes provisions for making a video. This short film will be shot during the project duration. The film will have its framework based in the project, but will most of all be elaborated around the research and the presentation of 4 cases in 4 different countries participating in the project (2 from new MS and 2 from old MS), exploring how construction enterprises have dealt with accidents, from their risk assessment to lessons learnt after the accident. The film will be presented at the closing conference in October 2009. Copies will be distributed to partners, stakeholders, enterprises (in combination with the final dissemination publication) and also made available online on the EBC website, Youtube and others.
